Physiotherapy FAQs
Some answers to some frequently asked questions about our services, fees and health care plans.
Do I need a Doctor’s referral?
We do not require a Doctor’s referral for physiotherapy. Most extended health plans do not require a Doctor’s referral but it is best to check with them first.
What should I wear for my appointment?
It is important to wear comfortable clothes that allows you freedom to move and allows the physiotherapist to see the area being assessed (ie. shorts, t-shirt or tank top). But if you forget we can provide a gown or a pair of our shorts for you to use.
What will happen at my first appointment?
Your physiotherapist will perform an assessment and working diagnosis of your injury. Our physiotherapists perform a hands on approach to treatment and always include a home exercise program. Education will be provided on how long it will take to recover and what to expect for your future treatment sessions.
Will my extended health care plan cover a portion or all of my visit?
Each extended health care plan is different and it is best to contact your insurer to determine what is your coverage.
Do you offer direct billing?
We offer direct billing for physiotherapy for a wide range of extended health providers so it is likely this service can be done for your plan. Remember to fill out your online intake or bring your extended health care plan card with policy number and member ID to your appointment.
How long will my appointment be?
Initial appointments often last between 45-60 minutes and follow-up appointments often last 30 minutes.
Do you treat WorkSafe BC and ICBC accidents and injuries?
Yes, we are a physiotherapy provider for both WorkSafe BC and ICBC. Please remember to bring your claim number or fill it out in your online intake.
